In Caterpillar room, we have been taking part in national story telling week, along side Simon Mole and Gecko in their Early Years storytelling project. This years story telling week, book for early years, is inspired by Simon Mole’s book ‘A First Book of Bugs’. We have been looking at “A first bug book” as-well as focusing on Simon’s ‘Earthworms’ poem, which is highly interactive and inspiring, ask your little caterpillars about “worm wow”.

Please see the following link and share this with your children at home, they absolutely adore it… https://youtu.be/yx-wjB7KSSU

To really help us get in the “worm wow” mood. We have created our very own worm world, where the children have loved creating their home, finding leaves to feed them, watching them, seeing the amazing wiggles and marks they make as they explore their habitat, the children were amazed at how many worms we had, that Ruby managed to find. We tried to find some worms in, we’re going on a worm hunt in the garden, but we only managed to find one lonely little worm, luckily he now has lots of friends.

No worms were harmed in this activity and only loved.
