In Caterpillar room we have been taking part in “NSPCC number day”, Number day is crucial for improving both adults and childs confidence in math, reducing anxiety, and fostering essential, everyday numeracy skills, we’ve been doing this through learning and play opportunities…

  • we’ve explored numbers through singing and rhyme time, 5 current buns was the most sang

  • we explored our number fish, ducks and balls through water and sensory play

  • we developed our memory and fine motor skills taking part in lots of puzzles

  • we explored the vehicle locks and keys during small world play

  • we did lots of counting, as we built towers and knocked them down, see if we could build it bigger each time!

  • we explored the number eggs and coloured dinosaurs, which were a little scary but we did it.

Along with many more exciting number opportunities.
